General FAQs

What are stretch marks?

Stretch marks are fine lines in skin that happen when quick growth or weight gain stretches the skin.

Skin is stretchy, but like your tightest jeans, they can sometimes get overstretched. Since your body is unable to keep up with collagen production, the existing collagen tears, and a stretch mark is formed.

Why do you get stretch marks?

Stretch marks are most common during puberty and pregnancy. However, people who are into bodybuilding and people who suddenly gain lots of weight can also get stretch marks.

Stretch marks are gender-blind - men can get stretch marks too! Stretch marks are commonly found on the buttocks, calves, belly, and thighs.

Why do stretch marks become white?

The colour of the stretch mark is an indicator of whether they occurred recently or later.

Red or purple stretch marks (striae rubra) are recent and still contain blood vessels under the skin and they typically respond well to treatment. White or silver stretch marks (striae alba) are older and they are typically harder, though not impossible to treat.

With time, most red stretch marks will turn white due to the emergence of pale fat from your skin.

Will S1 help to fix stretch marks?

Treatment of stretch marks should start as early as possible. Whether S1 can fix your stretch marks depends on your genetics, the way your body responds to treatment and your consistent application.

S1 can improve the appearance of stretch marks by softening, flattening and fading them over time, so that they do not contrast too much with the surrounding skin area.

It can also be used preventively during pregnancy and puberty.

Is S1 safe for pregnant women?

Yes. S1 is created in a Japanese lab with extremely high safety standards. No side effects have been observed when S1 is used as directed, but we recommend checking with your physician if unsure.

Can S1 be used while breastfeeding?

Yes, S1 can be used while postpartum and breastfeeding. However, please avoid applying the cream on the nipple area if you are breastfeeding.

Can teens and young children use S1?

Yes, we strongly encourage teens to use it through their growing years.

Can men use S1?
